Northern Industries Group

Buy in sensitive industries. Keep what works.

Northern Industries is building a horizontally integrated steel engineering group, at full capacity, primarily in the north of the UK.

  1. Buy

One to two new business units a year, in precision steel engineering, with a focus on the north of England.

  2. Keep

Each unit keeps its name, its plant and its managing director. Daily operations stay where they are.

  3. Improve

The corporate team works on financial, operational and ESG improvement across the group, not inside one plant.

  4. Integrate

Synergies across units: shared capability, shared customers, and a route to a horizontally integrated group.

A parent, not a plant.

Northern Industries does not fabricate. It buys businesses that do, in industries where precision and customisation are not optional, and it owns them for the long term. The group was founded in 2019 on the acquisition of JHT, and has added a business roughly every year since.

Value is built at group level: financial and operational improvement, an ESG programme rolled out across every unit, and synergies between businesses that were competitors or strangers before. The route is a horizontally integrated steel engineering group at full capacity.
